Wellington’s Victoria University Tongarewa Scholarship| Canada is given each year to outstanding new freshmen from underrepresented minority groups, such as but not limited to African Americans, Hispanics, or Native Americans, who have proved financial need.
Students who want to be considered for financial aid at Johns Hopkins must submit both the FAFSA and CSS Profile. They can discover when they go through these documents that they require further data to assess your eligibility. If so, IDOC, the College Board’s document upload service, will send you an email to let you know that more papers have been requested.

Wellington’s Victoria University Tongarewa Scholarship Description
The Tongarewa Scholarships honor the University’s dedication to the community of international students. Each year, we give these scholarships to international students in a variety of fields. This partial fee-based grant will help cover one year’s worth of tuition. Applicants may be beginning their first year of an undergraduate degree at Victoria University of Wellington or beginning a postgraduate degree program.
Academic excellence is a criterion for scholarship selection. They seek to enroll in classes the following year and their tuition payments will be credited. Candidates that make the short list might be asked for more data to back up their applications. If an accommodation application is submitted, recipients of these scholarships will be guaranteed an offer of a spot in one of our Halls of Residence.

Wellington’s Victoria University Tongarewa Scholarship Criteria
Candidates should be:
overseas pupils who have paid their full tuition
either beginning their first year of an undergraduate or graduate degree.
The following actions disqualify you from this scholarship:
your secondary education was completed in a New Zealand institution
completed the Foundation Studies Program or English for Academic Purposes (EAP)
are enrolled at one of our international partner universities as a Twinning or Study Abroad student.
are enrolled in Victoria University of Wellington’s same degree program in your second year of study.

Wellington’s Victoria University Tongarewa Scholarship Application Processes
On the closing date, a completed online application must be submitted by 4.30 p.m. Applications that are submitted late or in part won’t be approved. The application must be submitted by 4.30 pm on the closing date together with any necessary supporting materials (including references).

By 1 September, submit an online Tongarewa Scholarship application for trimester three of 2022.
Scholarship Specific Documentation

These are half fee scholarships. Both undergraduate and postgraduate recipients may apply for up to 10 scholarships worth NZ$10,000, and postgraduate applicants exclusively may apply for up to 9 scholarships for NZ$5,000. After the last withdrawal date for the courses of the trimester the recipient(s) have been awarded for, these scholarships will be applied to the cost of tuition (roughly two weeks in to the trimester)’

All Scholarship offers are subject to the Recipient’s full-time enrollment in a full-year program (defined as the number of points considered full-time by Studylink) during the Scholarship’s allotted period of time. The Scholarship won’t be paid out until this requirement has been satisfied.
A subsequent year cannot be chosen for the Scholarship.
The Scholarship could be given out in addition to other prizes.
Recipients are expected to represent Victoria University of Wellington as ambassadors and, if asked, take part in promotional activities or events.
The applicability of the terms and conditions of the Scholarship may be altered at the Deciding Authority’s discretion in exceptional cases or to prevent hardship for any Scholarship applicant.
